From Kitchen cabinets to Recreational vehicle speaker covers to guitar amplifier artwork, CabinetFace wants to help you reimagine your space.
This is an example of a custom setup. It was a vintage combo, black tolex, no amp, but a great Jensen speaker and good bones of 60s plywood. Stripped and oiled and a custom 20″ wide x 11″ tall ampfacade.
There are several variations to consider:
Round: Most amplifiers come in 8″, 10″or 12″ speaker configurations. We make our round cutouts to be about an inch wider than your speaker, so if you choose to screw it in permanently, you shouldn’t hit your speaker. (However, always test this before drilling into your amp!) We generally prefer to use the provided strips of marine-grade hook and loop/velcro to affix the design to the amp’s grill cloth..easy peasy, no muss, no fuss…you get the idea
Rectangular: Most amps are rectangular, with a combination of round speakers (usually 1 to 4 speakers) we can make a rectangle up to 18″ x 24″ in size. Rectangular really needs to be a custom size to make sure it fits your amp, so contact us.
Material: We can make your ampfacade out of unfinished Baltic birch 1/8″ plywood or cut it from 4-ply mat board (used in picture frames). Matboard is cheaper and has a greater variety of colors (up to 95 colors). Baltic birch feels more permanent and allows you to finish it with stain or tung oil, etc.
